Method, example & boundaries
Render a monochrome dot-screen image whose local dot coverage follows source luminance. A selectable cell size controls the visual frequency, making the page useful for a printable graphic treatment or for learning how brightness becomes dot area.
A 1200×800 monochrome PNG evaluated across approximately 150×100 cells.Darker cells receive larger black dots and lighter cells smaller ones; the output canvas keeps the source pixel dimensions.
Canvas pixels are sampled by square cells, converted to local average luminance, and mapped inversely to a centered black-dot radius. The browser draws the complete screen locally and exports the rendered canvas.
